Strength training
Strength training: develops the core stability and muscular endurance needed to manage braking forces and cornering Gs.
A MotoGP rider’s training routine mirrors the intensity and precision of their racing strategy: races last over 40 minutes, covering more than 120 km at speeds exceeding 360 km/h. To meet these challenges, Márquez’s program combines multiple disciplines, each designed to enhance control, endurance, and focus.
- Strength training: develops the core stability and muscular endurance needed to manage braking forces and cornering Gs.
- Cardiovascular conditioning: cycling, running, and rowing build stamina and accelerate recovery between races.
- Reaction drills: often on motocross and off-road bikes, to sharpen reflexes and body coordination, improving crash recovery and responsiveness on track.
- Flexibility and mobility: supported by physiotherapy, help prevent injuries and maintain agility.
- Mental training: including visualization and concentration exercises, to keep him sharp under pressure.
For Marc, variety is key: "A healthy lifestyle is fundamental for me. Doing different exercises and sports keeps my energy and vitality high. Training is my work, but above all, it’s my passion.”
